Augmented reality (AR), or “augmented reality,” is often used in the gaming and consumer products industries, but it is also increasingly being used in the automotive, aerospace, machinery, and retail industries.

PTC’s Vuforia Studio augmented reality solution offers a whole world of new possibilities for product design, maintenance and control. For example, mobile devices can be used to optimize service processes and prevent errors. To do this, maintenance personnel scan a ThingMark similar to a QR code on the product or plant with a mobile device. The augmented reality application then displays the process for replacing the spare part.
